Frequently asked questions
How do you handle shifts that cross midnight?+
If the end time is earlier in the day than the start time, we assume the shift continues into the next day and add 24 hours to the end time before subtracting.
How is the decimal hours value calculated?+
Decimal hours = total minutes ÷ 60. So 7 hours 30 minutes becomes 7.5, and 7 hours 45 minutes becomes 7.75. This is the format most payroll systems expect.
Can I enter breaks longer than my shift?+
If your break exceeds the shift length, the worked total is shown as 0. Double-check your start, end, and break values if that's not what you expected.
Is anything stored or sent online?+
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and never transmits your data.
